What is Food Stamps?
Food stamps, now called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the US, help low-income individuals and families buy food.
Eligible people receive a monthly allowance on an electronic card (EBT) which can be used at approved grocery stores to buy items like bread, fruit, vegetables, and meat.
The aim is to tackle hunger and make nutritious food more accessible to everyone.
